Hi, My name is Tony and i am your website admin volunteer, my job is to help you achieve your website goals.
My contact Number is 07 5529 0108, i can set up your pages under your direction or help you with things as they come up, I have an Acquired Brain Injury from a MVA some years ago, please bear with me if i get a bit loopy :)
Most websites start out with just basic information, where, when, how ...that sort of thing and may or may not get added to over time.
I use a program called Artisteer to build the template and this is available for free download to make your own if you would like, this can then be put online to change the look for your site to make it your own...or i can knock something up for you.
Getting Started
1. You will need a user account, apply for this after i set up your club if a new club or from your clubs home page.
2. A User account will give you access as permitted by individual club management to the site for management.
3. Don't worry, you wont break anything, User Accounts will not give you access to another clubs pages (you can cut and paste still), and other club admins dont have access to your pages.
4. Assistance will always be available for anyone wishing for some guidance on how to do something.
5. Our work as admins never ends...just take a break, up to date pages help Clients, carers, volunteers and Club Sponsors stay informed.
If you have reached this page and have information that this site or the club sites could be of befinit to the community please contact the relevant club/s.
A great resource for learning how to add features to your clubs pages is at the DotNetNuke getting started page at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/guidedtour/Index.htm
Web Hosting
The website needs two components, both of which have an annual fee.
1. Your www.saiability<clubname>.org website address and
2. Hosting space, which at present is provided for by Sailability Qld unless you decide to get your own.
I can assist with setting the www name, costs need to be met by the club in advance for this to occur, else i can walk you thru it if you would like.
WWW names require an account with a web Registrar, such as Planet Domain, or GoDaddy.com
From within this web Registrar account is where you will hire the use of the www name you wish to use.
Also from this account is where you will setup information on how to get to your site...The internet now has a name but needs to know where to go to get the associated information.
